CAMT 2010

I thoroughly enjoyed both presentations with Julizza Holub at CAMT 2010 in San Antonio, TX.  Our sessions were entitled "Love Affair with a Smartboard" and "Love Affair with a Monster."

"Love Affair with a Smartboard" focused on games on the SmartBoard using Smart Notebook software.  We had lots of fun presenting.  Coming soon: step-by-step directions on how to build your own game.  In the meantime, feel free to explore the activities that you can download on the Smart Exchange or from my CFISD website.

"Love Affair with a Monster" focused on two activities for Algebra:  Monster Exploration and Be There or Be Square.  Monster Exploration helps students to understand transformations of functions conceptually through dynamic explorations in Geometer's Sketchpad (version 4 or 5).  Be There or Be Square is also for GSP4 or GSP5.  It allows students to review Linear and Quadratic Parent Functions as they relate to a Square.  Both activities can be used with a computer/projector, with a SmartBoard (or other IWB), or on student laptops/computers.  These activities can also be downloaded from my CFISD website.

Special thanks to Key Curriculum Press for donating two copies of GSP5 as door prizes during our "Love Affair with a Monster" session.

Had a great time at CAMT 2010 and hope to see you again in 2011!
